Summary:
This thesis highlights the power of the active and dynamic planet earth, which
it is constantly changing and hosts man.
Through geological time dimension and scientific evidence, the Diary of the
Earth is unfolding until today.
In addition the paper describes the tremendous upheavals over the geological
ages, from Pangaea until present, where lands were united, sunk, separated and
huge mountains revealed.
The lithospheric plates, the creation of continents and oceans, seas, lakes,
the appearance and disappearance of islands, glaciers, multiple climate changes.
Appearance and disappearance of animal and plant species and the fossils, are
the witnesses of their presence. The first hominids and evolutionary man, homo
sapiens, became a witness of the constant changes of the Earth.
The natural and human environment follows and shows the Geodynamic processes as
earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, sea and invocations, constant climate changes,
endogenous and exogenous forces that were fighting and struggling with the
human observer in a continuous dynamic and Active Living Planet.
The climate and the major climatic changes, the human geography and the complex
relationship and interaction with the natural phenomena, are described also.
Human activity and the disastrous effects that arise, as well as, the location
and percentage of responsibility of man in the world.
