Summary:
This research aims to study the specific morphological, geological,
seismological and geotechnical conditions of the Santorini volcano caldera, in
the slope region of the Teleferikand the Old Port of Fira, in order to
precisely identify all the parameters that contribute to rockfalls in the area.
In accordance with the above, the objective of the study is to propose the
appropriate interventions and measures that will result in a significant
reductionof rockfallsrisk and also proposals for future technical projects,
taking into account the special geodynamic and geoenvironmental conditions of
the island of Santorini.
