Synthesis ,Characterization and Theoretical Studies of Phthalocyanine Complexes
Summary:
In this thesis two new phthalocyanine complexes with Zn2+, Cd2+ were
synthesized and characterized. These phthalocyanine complexes contain two
additional rings with four sulfur atoms per phthalocyanine substructure. The
synthetic route of the complexes appears diagrammatically in Scheme 1. The
synthesis was accomplished thermally by microwave irradiation in presence of
appropriate metal salts (CdCl2H2O or ZnCl2). The structures and synthesis of
the new complexes were confirmed by IR, Raman, 1H NMR, UV-Vis
spectroscopy, CV and TGA. Finally, theoretical calculations were also
performed to complexes and the results supported the corresponding
experimental data.
