Telecommunications Systems for modile telephony base stations
Summary:
In the context of this work we will try to describe the basic
telecommunications systems as found in a typical mobile telephony base station.
More specifically, we shall refer to the individual components of an RBS (Radio
Base Station) and the functions that each performs.  Our description is based
in the architecture of Ericsson’s RBS series 2XXX which is the hardware with
the world's largest market penetration.   Implementations by other companies
(Alcatel Nokia Siemens Huawei) are based in similar principles. Other issues
like proper setup, RBS and antenna system acceptance procedures, ways for
faults resolving, will be reported in a summary form.
