Summary:
In this thesis we carried out the synthesis and characterization of the
Re(CO)3Clpq and [Cu(dppz)(pq)]BF4 complexes using spectrofotometric methods
like NMR, F.T.-IR, UV -Vis chromatography and CV. These complexes were studied
in their interaction with calf thymus DNA (C.T.-DNA). The interaction was
studied with UV-Vis spectrometry, Circular Dichroism, Thermal Duration
experiments, Viscometry and Cyclic Voltammetry. All experiments were carried
out at pH=7 (tris HCl buffer). In addition, we studied the activity of these
complexes as potential inhibitors towards Platelet
Activating Factor (PAF) and thrombin (Thr).
