Summary:
The target of this work is to make us understand what exactly a CRC code is and
how important is its role in optimizing the right transmission of data. In the
beginning there is an analytical explanation of the mathematical background of
CRC. This is done in order to show us how we should think in order to implement
any kind of CRC in any technological field. Towards this direction some
examples shall definitely help. In the first chapter there is an explanation of
the implementation of CRC in Radio Frequency Identification Systems. In second
chapter we can find respective analysis for Universal Serial Bus. There we can
have a picture of parallel implementation of CRC from circuit point of view.
Continuing we see CRC in Long Term Evolution Systems and especially in control
channels. At the end there is a more general reference for two more areas where
Cyclic Redundancy Check codes are useful, Global Positioning System and energy
efficient sensor networks.
