Summary:
This thesis is about the implementation of an android application and the
general background which is needed for the operation of the application. More
specifically, an android application called “AndroLearning” which provides the
user the opportunity to participate in educational quizzes both within the
educational process in the field of his class and via the internet. For the
above operations a database has been developed. For the web version purposes,
this database is stored and operated on a server, while for the needs of
competitions in the classroom environment, a microcomputer (Raspberry Pi 2) has
been used as a local server. In addition, to manage the application database a
related website has been implemented. Finally, the Android application gives
the user the possibility of participating in offline competitions.
