Summary:
A modern society requires the establishment of efficient communication systems
that will provide greater speed, maximum quality of services and a great
flexibility in the inventions in order to meet the increasing demands of users.
LTE (Long Term Evolution LTE) and its enriched amendment LTE-A (Long Term
Evolution Advanced) have been designed towards fulfilling these requirements.
The basic principle of LTE networks was the maximum utilization of the
available frequency spectrum by creating heterogeneous networks (e.g. with the
use of femtocells, macrocells, picocells). Therefore one of the major
challenges introduced is the interference management.
As part of this work are presented several approaches for avoiding
interference, emphasizing to dynamic spectrum sharing schemes. The main
objective is each user to use the maximum possible frequency range without
being affected by interference and diminishing the quality of communication.
Toward this direction, in this paper we study the case of exploiting graph
coloring theory for efficient spectrum allocation, presenting a set of
algorithms that can be used for this purpose
