Summary:
This thesis aims to study the evaluation of the network “The Logo in Education:
A community of practice and learning” in the teaching and learning process.
This network has a large target group, such as school students, university
students, teachers, trainees and trainers, in order to provide some assistance
in several areas, such as support materials, better interactive communication
between each other, etc.
Firstly, we describe an overview Plato’s Academy, which was a part of this
thesis, as we have contributed and supported the laboratory of a project and is
the beginning for the study of Logo network. Our role was to support/help
during workshops carried out as part of the 10th Thematic Seminar with the
subject “Online and Electronic Environments”, in the premises of the Department
of Informatics and Telecommunications.
Afterwards, we continue with a general description of the Social Network,
indication their effects on social life, work, psychology and leisure.
Particular emphasis is given on the role of social networks in the educational
process, highlighting their role in education as a teaching tool, evaluation
and learning. Accordingly, we describe the network of the network “The Logo in
Education: A community of practice and learning”, on which we worked out
anonymous questionnaire survey and interviews, in order to compare the
respective results and describe their stats in detail.
This thesis concludes that ultimately, the role of Social Networks in education
is very important and worth the effort of continuous development and upgrade of
their capabilities.
