Summary:
The subject matter of this paper is Ramadan in the Islamic tradition as reflected in three vignettes of Sermet Muhtar Alush (1887-1952). The aim of this dissertation is the performance of the three Turkish vignettes in greek language and their utilization as a primary source of cultural history of the late ottoman and early period of the Turkish Republic. Also mentioned biography of the author and some information about three notable writers of Sermet Muhtar Alush' s generation. Finally, an analysis of these three vignettes according to the public space, the private space and the importance of sound during the Ramadan period of an older age.
