This diploma thesis refers to the discriminations young employees of the members of European Union and Greece experience during their hiring, during their employment and their dismissal due to the fact that they are "too young" . Specifically, it is examined the policies to the sectors of employment and labor market in European Union and in Greece in specific, the legislation in both European Union and Greece for coping with age discrimination against young employees and Court's case-law in European Union and Greece. Finally, it is highlighted the necessity of new measures and policies in the sectors of employment and labor market, which will help the transition from education to the labor market and the reduction of unemployment and NEET's.
