Phonetic implementing practices in jazz and in Greek traditional music: Historical and cultural dimension
Summary:
This project discusses the phonetic implementing practices that are found both in jazz and in Greek traditional music. Through an analytic approach of the historical and cultural dimensions, where the two genres were born and evolved, the research worker tries to interpret those elements that formed the background, over which these practices were built, going forward in the meeting of the two musical cultures and the creation of a musical blend, both familiar as to the identifiability of its initial ingredients, and original as to the acoustic and aesthetic outcome.
