Summary:
The estimation and the evaluation of the risk factors in the occupational workplace aim to the protection of the health and safety of the employees. At the same time the effort focuses at the prevention and the elimination of these factors that can determine negatively the occupational environment.
The Purpose of this current study is the research of the risk factors that can affect the health of an employee, working in the driver’s seat in the public rail transportation in Greece. There will be a discussion, therefore, for the health and safety of the rail system in Greece, compared with the European and the worldwide standards.
The Methodology was derived from the foreign bibliography, the review of the workplace (visit to the Greek rail organization) and the theoretical record of the malicious factors.
The Results are pinpointing the issue that arises when it comes to the application of the safety measures of the drivers and the lack of the current protection measures, compared with the guidelines and the system of the other developed countries.
