Summary:

Within a systematic framework of cooperation of Medicine and Physics’ Department of University of Athens, through RESPONZE program examined the short-, medium- and long-term effects of ozone on respiratory system of children and the role of environmental factors, such as meteorological conditions and background pollution by measures in schools in a group of 200 students in Athens and Thessaloniki. The purpose of this paper is to describe daily synoptic scale atmospheric circulation, weather conditions and ozone distribution in Athens and Thessaloniki during the experimental periods of RESPONZE program 2014.
