Τηλεπαιχνίδια και τυχερά παίγνια στην ελληνική τηλεόραση
Summary:
In this dissertation the course of television games nationally (i.e. in Greece) and internationally is described, along with the Greek regulatory frame concerning all games in general, including tv games of chance. Information concerning Greek authorities such as the National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV) and the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) is provided, as well as legal opinions related to the acceptable age for participating in tv games of chance. General concerns about television and radio games, relative case-law from the European Union Court of Justice and the HGC’s recommendation to forbid tv and radio games of chance, are also presented.
Case studies: Four different and particular tv game cases are analyzed: “SUPER GAME”, “TV QUIZ”, “MASTER QUIZ” and a promotional act, part of the tv programme “T@TIANA LIVE”. “SUPER GAME” is no longer broadcasted.
Finally, conclusions are drawn concerning the conditions under which tv games are broadcasted and suggestions are made in order to improve the current situation.
