War Risk Marine Insurance is one of the oldest institutions of maritime trade. This bachelor's thesis starts with an introduction in Marine Insurance, with references to important issues, such as the existing legislative framework, the insurance providers and various kinds of marine insurance, including also some important notions and principles. The main part of this thesis covers the war risks, dealing with difficult topics like for example the distinction between war perils and sea perils and detailed description of war risks coverage from both the insurance agencies and the protection and indemnity (P&I) Clubs. Lastly, a special chapter involves around the coverage of maritime piracy.
