Summary:
This master thesis presents the design and the application of the educational program entitled “A Folklore Approach to the Months”. It is a cultural program in the first grade of primary school in the 1st class of the 1st Primary School of Melissia in Athens. This educational program aims at bringing students into contact with the folk culture and at their understanding of the preservation of morals and customs over the years. Through the experiential-communicative teaching and the implementation of the project method, pupils approached the Greek liturgical calendar through the folklore analysis of the months. The assessment of the program indicated that pupils were favorably disposed to the design of the program and were able to achieve, to the fullest extent possible, the objectives of the curriculum.
