Documentary Credits in International Trade
Summary:
This diploma thesis deals with documentary credits as a means of payment in international trade. The first part of the thesis presents the legal framework governing documentary credits (national law and rules of the International Chamber of Commerce), the various types of documentary credits and the relations between the parties. The second part approaches the principle of autonomy (or independence principle) governing documentary credits and the exceptions to the principle, as these have been addressed by national and English case law.
