The offence of trafficking in human beings according to article 323A of the Greek Criminal Code

The scope of the particular study, which was drawn up under the master’s thesis on “the offence of trafficking in human beings according to article 323A of the Greek Criminal Code”, was the executive summary of the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings as well as the presentation and analysis of the current international, european and national legal framework for the prevention and repression of this crime.
Specifically, international and european legal framework was recorded, as it applies from the beginning of 2000 until today. Thereafter, an attempt to interpret and analyse the article 323A of the Greek Criminal Code was made. Finally, the fourth and last Chapter of this master’s thesis was devoted to the study of some specific issues, which are related to the particular topic, for the purpose of the total and comprehensive understanding of this particular crime.
This conducted review showed that on national basis, despite Greece has taken important steps in an effort to effectively combat this phenomenon, still, some problematic points are detected, rendering the current legal framework both inadequate and ineffective. Through the aforementioned conclusion, one can infer that the current legal framework requires amendment.
