The object of the thesis are the factors based on which the Greek courts grant the custody of the children to the father, after divorce or the dissolution of marital life. In Greece in the majority of the child-custody cases the courts award the custody to the mother. The first part of the thesis concerns the concept, the content, the types and the regulations of parental care and custody, while the factors which led the Greek courts to grant the custody to the father are exposed in the second part.
