European Union Health Law and Policy Issues
Summary:
The work presents in a general context the health policies of the European Union and the related activities of its institutions, as well as some modern issues that either characterize or influence the Union's health policy. After examining key concepts and highlighting some modern issues affecting health at global and European regional level, it then presents the historical evolution of EU health law and analyzes its rules and general principles and values governing the law and health systems of Member States. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of the Court of Justice of the European Union as a factor in shaping EU health law, but also on new forms of government and related mechanisms as factors for its development.
