Life expectancy of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm rupture postoperatively
Summary:
Introduction. Aortic aortic aneurysm is a potentially life-threatening condition and its main complication is the rupture.
Aim. The purpose of this study was to investigate and record the factors that postoperatively affect the survival expectancy of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm rupture.
Material-Method. The sample of the study consisted of 69 patients from the year 2015-2017, aged> 60 years. In order to find independent factors related to patient survival, single-term and multifactorial survival analysis was performed using Cox proportional risk models.
Results. The study population had an average age of 75.4 years ± 9.5. 92.8% of the participants were men. Furthermore, 97.1% of patients had arterial hypertension, 39.7% diabetes mellitus, 34.3% coronary artery disease and 14.9% COPD. The survival rate of patients at 1 week was 78.5% (SE = 5.1%). Patients with blood pressure lower than 70mmHg had a 3.34-fold greater risk compared to patients without blood pressure below 70mmHg.
Conclusions. Haemorrhage is a serious cause of prolongation of hospitalization in the ICU.
