Entrepreneurship in Greece and its involnement in the socioeconomic development - Sources of funding the entrepreneurial activity
Summary:
Entrepreneurship is an economic concept whose content is very broad. In economic theory, entrepreneurship is taken as the fourth factor of post-work output, land and capital. Entrepreneurship refers to the ability of individuals to identify specific investment opportunities and, by exploiting comparative advantages, to develop added value.

The deep economic recession that has prevailed in Greece in recent years has significantly affected the viability and profitability of businesses. Today entrepreneurs, beyond financial uncertainty are faced with a series of important obstacles such as high taxation, lack of state financial support - removal of subsidies and subsidies - high energy costs, labyrinth of bureaucracy, constant changes in legislation as well as the low purchasing power of consumers.

It is noteworthy, however, that according to the annual reports of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) for Entrepreneurship in Greece, in recent years despite the economic disfavor, there is an increase in the starting rate of new business ventures, while it is characteristic that while Greece is behind technology and innovation, a high percentage of new business actions is based on technology and innovation. Indeed, in recent years the term "start-up" has invaded the market, is spreading with increasing frequency, and basically describes fragmented new businesses, applications and large technology companies, which show rapid growth in the early years of their lives. At the same time, economic analysts argue that start-ups are businesses, which, with their results will contribute to the country's economic growth.
