Summary:
This diploma work deals with the role of innovation and new technologies in the creation of a lasting competitive advantage.
In detail, in first chapter it defines the concept of business competitiveness and analyzes the competitive strategies that an enterprise can follow.
In the second chapter, which is the main part of this diploma work, are analyzed the concept of innovation and technology. More specifically, there are presented various definitions of innovation and technology, as well as main categories.
Thereafter, technological innovation management and technology strategies are analized.
The third and last chapter consists of the case study of the company called Sychem ΑΕ. We analyze the strategies that company followed and technological innovations that company promoted in order to become a protagonist in their business environment. The third chapter is a practical application of the theory analyzed in the previous chapters.
