Sharing Economy and Competition Law Issues
Summary:
This paper aims to identify and analyse competition law issues arising from the entry of the 'sharing economy' business model in traditional markets. To achieve a full legal analysis of the issue, the writer examines both issues of pure competition law, such as the particularities that arise during the application of articles 101 and 102 TFEU in the Sharing Economy, and issues of wider competition law and regulatory policy, such as the existence of an uneven/unfair playing field between sharing economy businesses and traditional businesses, and the challenges presented from the existence of the Sharing Economy at a regulatory level.
