Summary:
The objective was to investigate if the measurement of the cervical length at the 11-13rd week of gestation and the βhcg in the maternal serum are predictive of preterm delivery.
Maternal serum samples were collected from 554 women as part of the 11-13 weeks’ screening program to determine the risk of fetal chromosomal abnormalities as well as they underwent through transvaginal ultrasound cervical length measurement.
Neither of the them appeared to have predictive value for preterm delivery.
