Summary:
The environment and by extension societies of humans have always affected by natural disasters, which are the consequence of the event a natural phenomenon to the extent that changes dramatically the environment and topography and affected the flora and fauna of a region and the people's lives, causing structural and by extension financial losses.
Typical is the human inability to cope with disasters and history is full of events and references to natural disasters that led to the extinction of entire cultures, so modern societies all States have set as a primary goal the creation and organisation of civil protection units as a means of defence for the protection of citizens from natural and technological disasters, while investing and significant amounts of equipment These units so they can respond immediately and effectively after the event of a disaster and to mitigate the consequences thereof.
Important contribution to the work of civil protection both in Greece and abroad have offered the Armed Forces, which act usually helpful offering their services in response to research and rescue and recovery projects. It should be noted that in some foreign countries, the Armed forces, is the main institution of the State to deal with disasters, so it is imperative that the presentation of the role that they have in our country in the field of civil protection and response to natural and technological disasters and to protect human life.
In this thesis, it is imperative that beyond the emergence of this project of the armed forces and the reference of the current regulatory framework for disaster response, to show the ways in which this project will become more effective and efficient, mutatis mutandis in order to avoid extensive use and removal from the master projects.
In addition to the above in our diplomatic work presented the modern face of Greek forces. The intensification of their efforts to upgrade the environmental awareness of staff, to strengthen the protection of the environment and natural resources, for the exploitation of renewable energy sources and saving energy. This effort aims at the continuous improvement of environmental and energy management in all activities of the SS by incorporating the principles of sustainable development.
Presented well, besides their main operational project, the dual social role of the armed forces that takes place on a daily basis in the areas of natural or other disasters – technology and the protection of environment. The year 2017 will concern us as a year of analysis, processing and presentation of the work of e. d in the above-mentioned fields.
