Then, an empirical analysis has been made in Greek space in order for the consequences to be depicted, especially those who have brought these food crises on the Greek consumer. For the conduct of the research, a random sample of 160 people has been used and the collection of data has been realized during the time from 01/02/2017 until 27/04/2017. Their processing and analysis has been made with the use of a statistical instrument, while other methods of descriptive analysis and case control have been used for the outcome of conclusions. The thesis aims at the empirical analysis to define the criteria that the Greek consumer takes more in to account during the food choice, the degree of how well-informed he/she is concerning the food scandals that have occurred worldwide and his/her behavior and impact towards those. Furthermore, the degree of trust and the stimuli in different sources of information concerning the food safety as well as the final choice, has been examined together with the degree of satisfaction from the measures that have been taken for the confrontation of food scandals, as well as the measures that the consumers themselves believe that they should have been taken and whether those measures are satisfactory enough to feel safety and trust for the food they consume. The foundings of this study aim at provide useful knowledge and strategic approaches for the health crisis confrontation as well as communication strategies for the reconstruction and maintenance of the public trust during periods of crisis.
