Summary:
The aim of the present study is to critically explore the discourse of esteemed researchers for critical thinking, which constitutes a ‘nodal point’ of both school education and adult education. In order to achieve a better and deeper understanding of it, ten researchers overall were chosen from the field of school education and adult education and some of their representative works were analyzed. Simultaneously, the common points, the convergences but also the variations that exist in the researchers' discourse about critical thinking are examined, on the one hand, within the framework of education to which they belong (minors / adults), and on the other hand, between scholars of minors and adults. The research method that was used in the study is “Discourse Analysis” and “Content Analysis” and is based on primary (selected works of scholars in the field of school education as well as in the field of adult education) and on secondary sources (relevant articles, papers and research).
