Summary:
The modern international environment is dominated by great uncertainty. Greece should not only get aware of the new facts in the international system and its regional living space, but also to come up with the necessary ways to ensure its national continuity and response to the trending security threats in its inner and outer environment, through a reinforced strategic concept. The emerging perceptions in international relations prove that ethnic-centered forms of comprehension tend to collapse under the burden of globalization. Therefore, strengthening state co-operation in transnational constructions is all but necessary. NATO is a typical example of a civilian-military alliance capable of providing Greece and its allies with the necessary environment to ensure the peaceful coexistence and social reconciliation.
