Effects on the life of adults experiencing parental divorce in pre-school, school and teenage age

This study explores the consequences that arise in the adult life of people experiencing parental divorce during their preschool, school and teenage life. The methodology chosen is qualitative. As a research tool, an improvised interview was used and the participants were ten in number. The main findings have shown that the majority of respondents believe that their parents' divorce has affected them mainly in the love affair and has created fears of a similar situation in their future lives.
However, some of those who did not experience the situation stated that their parents' divorce did not cause them regret, since they did not live, but caused them other difficulties (eg economic ones). Others said they were wounded by the divorce, but in the process they realized that their parents' decision improved their lives in the long run. Generally, in the cases examined the participants experienced several common feelings. One of them was their fear of separation.However, most people said they would try hard in their own relationship so they would not end up like their parents. In conclusion, participants have common fears about the future because of parental divorce, but at the same time they seem determined to try to better communicate with their own comrades and not to make the same mistakes with their parents, which is very promising for the same.
In the first chapter of the paper, the problematic, necessity and purpose of the study are mentioned. In the second chapter there is a reference to the Greek family, the types of divorces, the legislative framework currently in force concerning divorces and their impact on the pre-school, school and teenage child through researches already carried out. The third chapter gives extracts from the interviews of the participants. Finally, the fourth chapter includes the constraints, usefulness and general conclusions of the study.
