Summary:
The aim of this study is to investigate the process of internationalization of a pharmaceutical company. More specifically, this paper analyzes initially the theoretical level of the internationalization strategy through the presentation of secondary data and results of international, contemporary research. Then, in the research part, the pharmaceutical company DEMO SA is being studied, namely the internationalization of the company through the establishment of the subsidiary company DEMO Gmbh in Germany. Initially, the first chapter deals with the notion of internationalization and the incentives that companies have to internationalize today. Next we analyze the forms that the internationalization strategy that a company can design according to its interests and the external environment that it operates. The second chapter goes further into the pharmaceutical industry and the Greek pharmaceutical companies that have internationalized. The third chapter deals with the methodology and the manner in which this research was conducted by conducting a qualitative interview by the DEMO SA pharmaceutical development director. An important part of this analysis is the results of the interview. This study concludes with the general conclusions from both the bibliographic overview and the qualitative research on the strategy of internationalization followed today by companies.
