Liquid Cultures, Emergent Civilizations: Maritime Networks of Prehistoric Aegean and the Dawn of European Urbanism
Summary:
This study examines the sociological structure of the prehistoric Cyclades in order to present the way in which early urbanism began by focusing on the role of the sanctuary of Keros. By taking as a starting point Renfrew's theory of emergence in the Greek prehistoric world it examines its validity today in relation with the latest advances in Systems Theory and Liquidity Theory.
