Transdermal treatment of benign biliary strictures
Summary:
Transdermal bile duct treatment is a minimally invasive method of treating obstructive liver biliary disease due to either benign (postoperative stenosis, stones) or malignant pathologies.
Cholangioplasty combined with the placement of drainage catheters offers good results in the treatment of benign biliary strictures. The success rates of balloon cholangioplasty are particularly high (89-100%).
Complication rates range widely (up to 60%) with more common pyogenic cholangitis.
