Summary:
The subject of the thesis is the significance and the position of the dreams in Kazantzakis’ novels and, especially, in three novels of the author's mature fiction. In these novels are presented the main categories of dreams. Therefore, the characteristics of the dream process are identified and the position of the dream in the narration is revealed. The main aspect of dreams is the element of temptation and demons, while the dream is the basic element in Kazantzakis’ type of writing.
