Summary:
In our life we encounter people, who lead us either to become the best version of ourselves or corrupt us and eventually break us apart. One individual can destroy another through the process of harassment. Indeed, at times, this persistent effort results in a real mental murder. Most of us are aware of cases of harassing behavior in different levels, either in the workplace or within the family. However, our society turns a blind eye to this form of indirect violence, by allowing it pretending condescension. It is fascinating the fact that most of the victims do not realize this kind of malicious treatment, but tend to feel responsible and trying to understand why. Holding diversity prevents interference to other people’s actions, even if they are considered unpleasant and morally blameworthy. To what length, however, is this acceptable?
Inour era rule enforcement is denied, thus we give up from any form of protection towards the victims. The person who has been sexually, morally, psychologically abused is indeed a victim regardless the temporary or permanent of this behavior. Even in the case when the retribution may contribute to a relationship with the aggressor, which is fed back and can give the impression that is proportional, such as workplace and family relations, it should not be forgotten that it is a situation for which the victim is not responsible for.
Nowadays, victims tend to stay in the relationship desperately against their own physical or mental health. In many cases, rebelled and turned to justice. So the phenomena is slowly being published and a concerning society starts to form. The aforementioned is the purpose of this thesis: to make publish the phenomena of harassment. Firstly, we will attempt to outline the form of harassing behavior and the roadmap to each criminalization, which until recently were excluded from criminal punishment. Regarding the text structure, workplace harassment will be examined to the first chapter and family harassment to the second one. Always, in the light of the legislative protection that is pursued in foreign legal systems, until we finally come to conclusion and a critical review about the Greek legislation acts, consequent of a European approach comparison
