Summary:
The present work focuses on the study of male and female characters of the novels of Manos Kontoleon “Sin city”, “Two times Spring” and “A story of Fiodor”. The work consists of two parts. In the first chapter of the first part, the research problems, the objectives, the reasons for choosing the literature material, the methology of research and the description of terms are analyzed. In the second chapter, the theories of characters and the kinds of characters are examined. In the third chapter, the kinds of characters and the presentation of characters in children’s and teenager’s literature are analyzed. In the fourth chapter, the aspects of gendered representation, the characters of adult women and teenager girls and the characters of men in modern Greek children’s and teenager’s literature are presented. The second part includes the description of male and female characters of the three novels. Finally, having analyzed the male and female characters, suggestions are made.
