Summary:
This paper focuses the analysis of two articles of the Greek Civil Code and attempts to compare them. Namely, articles 71 and 922 of the Greek Civil Code are analyzed and interpreted. Firstly, article 71 of the Greek Civil Code addresses the liability of a legal person, a company for instance, for acts and omissions of its “organs”, which are physical persons working for the legal person and acting on its behalf. Secondly, article 922 of the Greek Civil Code focuses on the liability of a legal or physical person for acts and omissions of persons working under them. This paper also discusses the common ground and the different points between them. Finally, common ground is found in the purpose of these articles, which the is the protection of third parties’ interest and their chance for reimbursement.
