Translated title:
Diogenis the Laertios, Socratis
Summary:
The current postgraduate thesis with the title “Diogenis Laertios, Socrates” is aiming to present the Philosopher Socrates who has the most dominant presence at the Laertios writing ““Bίοι καί γνωμαι των εν φιλοσοφία ευδοκιμησαντων και των εν εκάστη αιρεσει αρεσκόντων εν επιτομώ συναγωγή”. To be more specific the person that has been considered as the founder οf dialectic, it becomes the focus at the research of the second book of Laertios having previously referred to Anaximandros, Anaximeni and Anaxagora. In Laertios work emerges the philosopher and his relation with the town of Athens, where we was born, lived and teached. Τhe work is presenting his thinking for the Attica comedy and the reason why was under Aristophanes criticism. It seems obvious his difference vs the sophists but also the way he affected his ancestors, the ones called “Socratikoi”. At final there is an analysis at the unique human, the one referred by god (demon) to philosophize. We end up at the trial and death of Socrates, which was the begging of a second and substantive life, and has been incorporated at the memory and mind of humanity.
