Strategic Management for the Prevention, Management and Rehabilitation of the Impacts of Natural Disasters: The Case of the Municipality of Halandri
Summary:
Municipalities are the largest population-based group at the level of local self-government, and when they suffer from natural disasters, the losses are at least significant. The right of every citizen for survival, security is of the utmost importance.
In this diploma thesis you develop the methodology in three basic steps (before, during and after a natural disaster) of a business plan for dealing with natural disasters that is already being implemented in a large municipal apartment, that of Halandri.
As a result of the analysis of the methodology, the main body of the process is readily adaptable to any natural disaster and easily implemented by each municipality, provided there is a proper organization and precise division of responsibilities, as the status of complicated complications and not so clear responsibilities can lead to a reduction of the security level.
Nevertheless, the one who will have the last say in the success of the management strategy will always be nature.
