Seismic Hazard and Seismic Risk in the Municipality of Katerini

In Greece it is well known that natural disasters caused by geodynamic phenomena are expected to be particularly severe and frequent due to the tectonic and geodynamic regime in the country. One of the most vulnerable places in seismic events is the one in Northern Greece.
The present study attempts to capture data from the Municipality of Katerini, with the aim of (a) identifying the seismic hazard in the Municipality of Katerini and (b) the secondary natural disasters that accompany and threaten the Municipality, with the ultimate aim of ensuring the safety of residents and visitors. the reduction of all kinds of impacts on the living potential and the built environment from such a possible disaster in the Municipality.
The results of our research give a calibration of the wider area, from 1 to 6, which assigns the seismic risk and seismic risk to each municipality of Katerini Municipality.
