Summary:
The present study attempts to explore the cultivation of literacy and creativity in
children through the Summer Campaign program implemented by the National Library of
Greece in collaboration with the Hellenic Libraries Network. The theoretical concepts, their benefits to the child's overall development and the library factor are analyzed in detail, while the program features are presented. For a closer examination of the subject, the researcher interviews the program managers in libraries from different parts of the country. The results of the research are analyzed through the narrative report, highlighting the essential contribution of the Summer Campaign to the formation of a large group of people who regularly enjoy the reading experience.
