Summary:
In this book the scientific objectivity is considered as well as its connection with
the social conditions that promote its emergence and the way in which the objectivity
, in its turn, shaped the society and especially the scientific self. Scientific persona is the central issue of the study and its formation is related to broader beliefs that shape personal identity. Special consideration is attributed to scientific values shared by the workers of science. The role of technological progress as well as of education is also discussed.
