Study of perceptual sound degradation in non-ideal listening positions, of periphonic line array system
Summary:
In the present thesis a methodological approach was proposed and a case study, in the form of experimental listening, was conducted to study the effect of perpetual degradation on perpetual characteristics of non ideal line-source peripheral audio system. The thesis focuses on the development of a methodology based on two factors. The first is the non-ideal listening position and the second is the propagation characteristics of sound from line-sources, and in particular the characteristic of the distance-level dumbing rate. In this light, the degree of deterioration of perpetual characteristics, defined by the geometry listener – audio system of, line-source and point-source, periphonic systems, at non-ideal listening positions was evaluated and their performance was evaluated in terms of maintaining these characteristics.
