The theatrical Shakespearean intertexts in Cosmas Politis’ literary work: Constantine the Great and The Plumtree and other short stories
Summary:
The present thesis aims to investigate the intertextual dialogue, which Cosmas Politis created in his literary works, ''Constantine the Great'' and ''The plumtree and other short stories'', with the following William Shakespeare’s plays: ''Macbeth'', ''Hamlet'', ''Richard the third'' and ''Othello''. More precisely, through our investigation of the above intertextual dialogue, we will proceed with the analysis of the functions of the Shakespearean intertexts in the works of Politis, focusing on their thematical, lexical, structural and stage level.
