Summary:
In the present thesis we will analyse the program for the management of a research and experimental laboratory that studies metabolic bone diseases with the use of laboratory animals. We will look into the legal framework and ethical issues of animal research laboratories, as well as their basic structural requirements. Futhermore, we will discuss the potential occupational risks and hazards for the laboratory staff, pointing out the safety precautions for the avoidance of staff exposure to occupational risks and hazards according to the risk assessment. We will examine the laboratory management and the hospital waste management plans, as well as advanced research methods into metabolic bone diseases with the use of laboratory animals before discussing our results.
