Statistical Properties of the CI in the case of additivity : a simulation approach
Summary:
The main aim of this thesis’ creation was to be the formation of a convenient way to
examine the Combination Index value in additivity. To become this notion a realistic,
try and, endly, an efficient investigation of this issue, it was decided that the
illustration of the CI value of two drugs combined in a 3D – graph via a MATLAB
code was the essential base of the study. Moreover, after illustrating the graph, a
subject that came up was the meaning and the necessity of statistics in the
Combination Index value. Without doubting the existing studies, a gap in CI’s
statistical analysis, especially in additive effect, was appeared. So, the goal was to
analysis of Combination Index value in additivity statistically, and how a two-drug
combination behave each other with the help of statistics.
To examine statistically a combination of two drugs, it was necessary to create
random samples to be analyzed and, through bootstrapping method, present what the
behavior of the combination is. The thesis was based on a sampling research of fifty
random patients and studied the additive effect of the two drugs’ dose-effect.
