Summary:
Pain is prevalent in the history as well as the personal narratives of Man. Throughout the history of mankind cultures have related directly to the expression of pain in a metaphysical and religious manner. It was not until the modern era that digital imaging made diagnosis even more accurate while implementing and developing new therapeutic strategies, effective treating methods and adequate pain management. Despite the advancement of science, however, undertreatment of pain, and chronic pain in particular, remains a major challenge for national health systems.
Chronic pain, with high prevalence and persistent attributes, is widely considered a disease per se. Pain management therefore is highly recommended to include thorough evaluation of the patient’s status before applying a customized treatment. The contribution of antioxidant dietary supplements has proven to have beneficial effects when it comes to the enhancement of the patient’s stamina and physical condition in general. The case study on the use of Nevralip © 600 retard with alpha lipoic acid as its main active ingredient brings interesting evidence to light concerning treatment and pain management in chronic patients by reducing some of the side effects caused by the use of medication for certain diseases.
