Summary:
The burnout syndrome is characterized by a high risk of developing in teachers, with the causes being due to individual characteristics as well as job characteristics. Undoubtedly, the consequences of the syndrome affect both the health and behavior of teachers and their efficiency in the school environment and the degree to which they respond to their duties and role. In times of economic crisis, stress is at an all-time high, with studies showing conflicting findings in the existing literature on the level of burnout in Greek teachers and the relationship between burnout and demographic characteristics. The aim of this study was to study burnout syndrome in primary school teachers, the factors that can lead to it as well as the interventions that can be made to prevent and treat burnout syndrome.
