Study of optical and physical properties of biomass burning aerosols
Summary:
In this study we focus on the optical and microphysical properties of biomass burning aerosols Satellite data based on FIRMS are used to select three regions: Amazonios, Africa and Southeast Asia. In the regions of interest the dominant aerosol source is biomass burning due to large number of fires that take place. For the study of optical and microphysical properties data from Cimel sunphotometer of AERONET ground based network. We study the seasonality of the biomass burning optical properties while we investigate potential correlation between optical and microphysical properties.
